Small-business lenders

Buy: JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and U.S. Bancorp (USB). The campaign is explicitly pro–small business (lower taxes, less regulation, less abusive litigation). That typically supports loan demand and credit quality for small-business-focused portfolios, and it can lift management confidence on deal flow.

Key Risk: If the election doesn’t translate into real pro-small-business policy, loan growth and credit expectations won’t improve.

Legal-services exposure

Sell: legal-adjacent names with heavy exposure to litigation volume (e.g., legal staffing/contingency-heavy firms like Robert Half (RHI) and legal services platforms). The message is “prevent abusive litigation” and “easing regulatory burden,” which can reduce the tailwind for certain litigation-driven revenue streams.

Key Risk: If litigation and regulatory enforcement stay high (or rise), revenue doesn’t slow and the sell thesis fails.

  • Troutman campaign takes over Orange County Business Journal’s cover today.
  • Eric Troutman pitches himself as Orange County’s small-business choice now.
  • Campaign also highlights schools, first responders and fiscal reform plan.

Continuing his high-profile name recognition campaign, California Congressional Eric Troutman’s campaign took over the cover of the Orange County Business Journal today.

The popular Journal is read by thousands of businesses throughout Orange County and is regarded as one of the largest business journals in the United States, serving as a primary resource for executives and decision-makers throughout Orange County.

“We wanted to send a clear message– if you own or work for a small business in Orange County you need to be supporting Eric Troutman for Congress,” the Troutman for America campaign says.

“Without question Eric Troutman is the pro-business candidate in this election. No one will do a better job easing regulatory burden and preventing abusive litigation than Troutman.”

Eric Troutman is himself a small business owner– the founding partner of the powerful and successful Irvine-based law firm Troutman Amin, LLP–and has pledged to help small businesses throughout the county.

“Small business is the backbone of our nation. While most candidates focus on the large corporations that fill their campaigns with filthy campaign dollars I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the hard working people of Main Street,” Troutman says.

“I love small business owners, their employees, and their families and I will make great deals in Washington to assure their continued success here in Orange County.”

Troutman says small businesses stand out to him because their owners and employees work so hard.

“Small businesses are amazing because they’re so efficient and work so hard. There’s no bloat. No extra people or needless expenses. They just work so hard every day,” Troutman says.

“The government could learn so much from small business America but they’re always too busy listening to Wall Street and the big corporations.”

Troutman’s campaign claims he has a plan to lower taxes over time while also bringing down the cost of living.

“Virtually all of the economic problems we are facing right now are because of the government shooting us all in the foot,” Troutman says.

“We can bring down the cost of living, the national debt, and our tax burden with one simple move– stop handing out free money!”

But economic reforms are just one part of Troutman’s broader platform.

The Orange County Business Journal cover also emphasizes Troutman’s promise of more resources for local schools, police and fire while ending middle east conflict.

“We are spending so much money on wars but not enough on our wonderful first responders and teachers,” Troutman says.

“Look we have to protect our military and keep our defense strong of course– but we need to hold Trump accountable for his insane tariffs and military spending. A lot of those dollars should be coming back to this district to keep our schools and first responders well-funded and strong!”

Troutman continues to emphasize his independent status and skills as a high-end negotiator and attorney as the ultimate “trump” card.

“Nobody can deal with Trump the way I can. I will work with him when he’s making sense–and he sometimes does. But I will stop him cold when he is out of line,” Troutman says.

“I really look forward to working with the President to make this District stronger and healthier than ever before. This is something no other candidate can achieve.”
