YouTube suspends two crypto channels due to policy breach
- YouTube temporarily banned the two popular crypto channels, citing violation of company policy.
- The social sharing giant has previously banned some crypto-based channels late last year.
- The two channels have been restored and normal services have resumed as well.
Two popular YouTube crypto channels have been temporarily suspending, with the video-sharing giant citing breach of company policy. YouTube has not responded to the press for comments relating to the latest bans.
This is coming after YouTube recently banned some crypto channels on YouTube and later reinstated some of the after series of protests by the channel owners and the crypto community.
Earlier this week, crypto news reporter, referred to as “The Moon,” and crypto educator “Ivan on Tech,” expressed their resentment over the ban of their YouTube channels by the Video sharing platform.
One YouTube user with a popular Chanel with more than 89,000 subscribers stated that “while bitcoin (BTC) was censorship-resistant, YouTube videos were not.”
YouTube initially gave both accounts warning via a strike notice, which restricts them from creating content such as uploading videos or streaming live through the YouTube platform. The strike was to last for a certain period, depending on the number of violations or strikes received.
YouTube has also issued similar bans in the past

Last year, YouTube banned a couple of crypto-based sites and cited breach of company policy as well. In some cases, the social sharing giant said the sites offered promotional content and sensational headlines. YouTube also pointed out that sometimes, the problem is not violations but an error in algorithm readings by its systems.
Moon said its content that received censorship had nothing that showed it violated any YouTube policy terms. But YouTube told him that the video he was sharing and his channel were violating the terms on the “sale of regulated goods and services policy.”
Both Channels have been restored

But since he doesn’t have any idea which streaming broke YouTube’s policy, he may be streaming from his websites to avoid repeated strikes.
