Heroes of Mavia closes $2.5M strategic funding round

Heroes of Mavia, a play-to-earn blockchain-based massively multiplayer online (MMO) strategy game created by Skrice Studios, has closed a $2.5 million strategic funding round led by Crypto.com (CRO/USD) Capital, Invezz learned from a press release.

Hashkey Capital, Merit Circle, GuildFi, YGG SEA, Avocado Guild and several other funds took part in the round.

Final private sale of MAVIA token, total of $8M raised

The funding round marks the final private sale of the game’s native MAVIA token. It follows Mavia’s $5.5 million seed funding from well-known investors like Binance Labs and Genblock Capital, bringing the total amount raised to $8 million.

The game is set on an eponymous island, where the player is a commander of a base. Each player’s goal is to grow their army and base using resources obtained from attacking other players’ bases. Getting started with Heroes of Mavia

Players choose from three methods to occupy a plot of land: renting land, owning land, or partnering with a landowner. Each plot of land corresponds to a base. It’s easy to get started without much capital if you rent land or partner with a landowner.

MAVIA is the governance token, giving holders the ability to vote on decisions and determine the future of the ecosystem. They can also use it to trade and rent NFTs on the Mavia marketplace.
