Crypto prices bearish on Jan 9: BTC slips below $95K, XRP bucks the downtrend

The crypto market remains in bearish territory today, with Bitcoin dipping below the $95K mark, dragging down major altcoins.

The global market cap has decreased by about 2%, bringing it to $3.33 trillion.

The total crypto market volume over the last 24 hours is $167.5 billion, reflecting a 1.41% decrease.

The total volume in DeFi stands at $12.28 billion, making up 7.33% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume.

Stablecoins account for a substantial portion, with a volume of $155.11 billion, representing 92.60% of the total crypto market volume in the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin (BTC) price today

Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $94,309, reflecting a 2.18% drop over the past 24 hours.

Trading volume for BTC was 5% at $64.96 billion.

The price has fluctuated between $92,525.84 and $96,631 during this period.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin ETFs experienced significant outflows, with $458 million in total, led by Fidelity selling $258 million in Bitcoin.

Ethereum (ETH) price today

Ethereum (ETH) has also seen a decline of 0.71%, currently priced at $3,330.

ETH ETFs saw outflows of $159 million, with Fidelity contributing $147 million.

Trading volume for the coin was down 6% at $$32.67 billion.

XRP and SOL price today

XRP is the only coin in the top 10 to show a gain, rising 0.36% and trading at $2.36.

This price movement was partly supported by Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD being listed on the Bitstamp exchange, which adds more utility to the XRP ecosystem.

Solana (SOL) was down 1.35% to trade at $194.77.

Trading volume was down over 12% at $4.4 billion.

Crypto gainers today

XDC Network (XDC) price, bucked the general market trend, going up by over 7%, currently trading at $0.09455.

The 24-hour low and high were $0.088 and $0.0975, respectively.

GateToken (GT) was second in the list of gainers with around 5% jump. The coin traded at $18.48.

Monero (XMR) rose by 4.50%, with the price trading at $196.54.

Crypto losers today

THORChain (RUNE) price suffered the biggest drop today.

RUNE dropped by 10% in the last 24 hours, trading at $3.90, with a 24-hour low of $3.86 and a high of $4.34.

Injective (INJ) also fell by 9%, now at $21.47. Trading volumes for the coins were down 14% at $187 million.
