  • Billionaire investor Warren Buffett recently attended dinner with TRON CEO, Justin Sun, during which they discussed cryptocurrencies.
  • A few weeks later, Buffett once again bashed BTC and crypto, in general, during a recent interview, indicating that Sun did not manage to change his mind.
  • However, Sun did gift him some crypto which remains in Buffett's possession, even though he denies owning crypto, and continues to call it "worthless."

Warren Buffett, a well-known investor and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has been criticizing and bashing Bitcoin for years. One of the major goals of the crypto community has been to try and change his mind, and an opportunity to do so emerged last year, when TRON CEO, Justin Sun, won a dinner with Buffett after participating in a charity.

Since then, the dinner was postponed and it finally took place a few weeks ago, in early 2020. Many had hoped that Sun would be able to change Buffett’s mind, although expecting something like that to come out as a result of a single dinner was a bit optimistic.

However, the hope was still there, and people expected that Sun would be able to at least soften Buffett’s harsh views on the digital currency sector.

Buffett still remains anti-crypto, but he kept Sun’s gift

Unfortunately, it appears that this did not happen, as Buffett, who once called Bitcoin “rat poison, squared,” once again bashed the coin in an interview nearly a month after the dinner took place. This time, Buffett said that Bitcoin was “worthless,” even though the coin’s price has grown by quite a bit since the beginning of the year.

Buffett continues to claim that BTC has no value and that it doesn’t produce anything. His negative views do not only include BTC but the entire crypto market. The billionaire believes that BTC is a problem and that it can only be sold to someone else, which is not solving the problem but transferring it to someone else.

Sun took to Twitter to talk about Buffett’s new statement, stating that he gave him a pair of Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphones with 1 BTC and 1.9 million TRX tokens on them, alongside other cryptos, such as BTT and TRC-10 USDT.

After Buffett bashed BTC again, Sun revealed that he still did not get rid of the coins that he was gifted. Even so, this doesn’t make him an investor, but it goes against Buffett’s claims that he doesn’t have any crypto and that he never will.
