Cardano and Tezos rank ahead of Bitcoin on the Weiss Ratings’ list

Weiss Ratings once again released an assessment of various cryptocurrencies, ranking them based on different criteria. However, an interesting part is that two new coins exceeded Bitcoin when it comes to technology.

XTZ and ADA perform surprisingly well

According to Weiss Crypto Ratings, the 13th largest coin, Cardano (ADA), and the 10th largest one, Tezos (XTZ) both exceed BTC. Of course, this is only in terms of technology, as Bitcoin still remains number one when it comes to market cap, price, and dominance.

Even so, it is interesting to see the two projects beat BTC, as well as every other crypto. The two are the top projects when it comes to their tech, with Tezos holding the first place, and Cardano following as 2nd.

Both projects’ technology is currently market as ‘Excellent,’ which is the mark that only two other coins have — Cosmos (ATOM) and Fantom (FTM). Apart from being excellent in terms of tech, XTZ and ADA also got high marks in the area of tech/adoption.

In this regard, Tezos scored B-, while Cardano got B+. Of course, both are behind Bitcoin in this area, which received A.

How did Bitcoin and Ethereum compare?

Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s overall grade is B+, while its technology is only seen as ‘Fair.’ Ethereum also scored B+ overall, although it does have better tech grade, currently considered ‘Good.’ As for its tech/adoption grade, Ethereum also got A, which makes it equal to Bitcoin in this regard.

While both, Tezos and Cardano, seem to enjoy a lot of respect in terms of technology, neither managed to enter the top 5 list when it comes to an overall rating. Meanwhile, Bitcoin still stands as the number one cryptocurrency in that regard. And, as always, it is immediately followed by Ethereum.

ADA performed better than it does in terms of market cap, sitting as the sixth-best coin overall. Meanwhile, Tezos remain true to its m.cap score, once again occupying the tenth spot.
