The NFTs will be stored on the Tezos blockchain. Tezos runs through a proof-of-stake consensus; hence these NFTs will be minted in an environmental;-friendly manner.
The firm also notes that Ubisoft Quartz will offer,
A new experience for our players, built upon our vision of creating an ever-greater connection between you and the game worlds you love.
Ubisoft also states that gamers will have autonomy and agency when using the in-game assets. Ubisoft has stated that the first NFTs will be released in beta. The NFTs will feature in-game gear, and they can be bought using cryptocurrencies.
The in-game items will be non-fungible in that they all have a unique serial number. The NFTs can be traded by players on the Tezos blockchain, even if they do not play Ghost Recon or other games compatible with NFTs. However, the gamer tags of the previous owners will still be contained in the NFTs.
