This review of BTCC looks at one of the most experienced heads in the crypto space. Explore its fees, security record, and get our verdict on whether this platform is for you.

Our opinion of BTCC Exchange

BTCC stands out as one of the oldest, most reliable crypto exchanges.

With a reputation built on security and regulatory compliance – as well as a proud record of never experiencing a security breach – it has become a go-to choice for traders across North America since its founding in 2011.

This review dives into why that’s the case.

What sets BTCC apart from other exchanges? Its focus on futures trading offers significant leverage options – up to an impressive 250x225x – and caters to both novice and experienced investors alike.

The platform’s diverse offerings include over 300 USDT-margined perpetual pairs alongside spot trading capabilities, making it versatile enough for anyone looking to explore digital assets.

By blending advanced functionality with user-friendly features like copy trading and tokenized stocks, BTCC ensures that users have access not only to cryptocurrencies but also exposure to non-crypto assets such as gold or U.S. stocks – all within a secure environment.

4.2

What can I do with BTCC Exchange?

BTCC’s main emphasis is on crypto futures trading, with more than 300 perpetual futures contracts with up to 300x leverage, providing plenty of choice.

Spot crypto trading is also available, catering to those who might be new to futures but still want access to digital asset markets.

Finally, there are a few tokenized assets on offer, so you can trade digital versions of some popular stocks and commodities.

What accounts does BTCC Exchange offer?

The standard trading account is tiered, so that the more you trade the more benefits and exclusives you unlock.

Mainly this means you get better trading fees the higher your trading volume – the real perks don’t kick in until you trade a huge amount per month (we’re talking in the millions of dollars per 30-day period).

Products, markets & assets

What products and assets can you trade on BTCC Exchange?

On BTCC Exchange, you can trade over 300 cryptocurrency futures markets, which include popular coins like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL), among others.

For those who prefer spot trading there are 88 crypto coins available ensuring ample choices to suit various investment strategies.

Additionally, tokenized stocks and commodities such as gold, silver, and US stocks expand your portfolio options with 37 offerings that bridge traditional finance with digital asset innovation.

What leverage trading options are there?

The maximum leverage available is 225x, but right now there is an offer that allows you to increase leverage up to 500x on certain pairs.

The 5 pairs this offer applies to are BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, DOGE/USDT, SOL/USDT, and XRP/USDT perpetual futures contracts.

This high-leverage option caters particularly well to experienced traders looking to maximize potential returns while navigating market volatility (but it pays to be a bit careful with leverage, using 500x leverage can be really dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing).

  • Amazon (AMZN)

  • Meta (META)

These derivatives are designed to mimic the performance of the underlying stocks, providing traders with exposure to the stock market using cryptocurrency without owning the actual stock.

What are the fees for buying and selling stocks?

Like all the other assets on BTCC, the tokenized stocks aren’t charged a traditional trading fee. Instead, you pay through the spread, which varies depending on market conditions.

BTCC Exchange mobile app review

The mobile app for BTCC is designed with user-friendliness in mind, making it suitable for all levels of traders.

Available on iOS and Android this app mirrors nearly every feature found on the desktop version.

I don’t normally like trading from an app – it can be quite fiddly and awkward compared to the desktop version – but this experience was top notch on the small screen.

Web trading platform

The most important question any user has is: How easy is it to use BTCC Exchange?

One of the best things about BTCC is that it’s a platform anyone can use. Crypto exchanges can be a little complicated at first – particularly ones that deal with futures markets – but they make a real effort to ease you in.

When you first access the trading screen, you’ll get a prompt for a tutorial that takes you through how to place your first trade.

Even as someone who’s traded a lot before, I found this useful. Every platform is different, and it’s good to have someone show you around.

After that, I found BTCC pretty seamless and intuitive. There’s a lot of information on the trading screens, but that’s normal for any exchange.

All the features are easily accessible from the menu bar and I found it simple to navigate around, placing trades and managing my money.

Features like copy trading come with a full-blown guide to explain how the process works, which I’ve rarely come across on other platforms.

Overall, it’s a huge positive on the usability front.

Key features

Regular campaigns and bonuses for new users

When you sign up for an account, there’s a 10 USDT bonus waiting for you. Then there are more bonuses for clearing certain landmarks:

  • 20 USDT for completing verification
  • 20 USDT for your first deposit (of at least $500 USD within 7 days)
  • 10 USDT for your first deposit (of at least $200 USD within 7 days)
  • 5 USDT for your first copy trade

You get the picture: there’s loads of ways you can boost your trading pot – this is one of the best bonus campaigns I’ve seen from any exchange.

Weekly giveaways

Along with the campaigns handing out bonuses to new users, there are weekly giveaways on social media that could net you more free crypto.

BTCC has handed out more than 15,000 USDT through social media giveaways, and 2.8 million in rewards in general over the years.

Referral programme

Another incredible offer is the referral programme, which entitles you to some great benefits if someone signs up from your referral link.

Along with some more free USDT (usually paid out in coupons – you can’t just withdraw this cash straight away), you can earn up to 35% commission on that person’s trades.

If you have a friend who’s a heavy trader, those benefits could really mount up.

Boosted leverage on specific coins

Right now there’s a promotion allowing you to trade with up to 500x leverage on five crypto pairs – BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, DOGE/USDT, SOL/USDT and XRP/USDT perpetual futures.

There’s also up to 50x leverage on 300 more perpetual futures.

Safety & reliability

Is BTCC Exchange safe?

BTCC has maintained an impressive security record with zero reported incidents or breaches since its establishment in June 2011.

This is largely due to the robust security measures they have implemented over the years. They use segregated one-to-one storage of user funds alongside multi-signature cold wallets for added protection.

Additionally, SSL encryption safeguards all user data while two-factor authentication (2FA) adds another layer of defense against unauthorized access.

Is BTCC Exchange regulated?

Regulation plays a crucial role in ensuring trustworthiness within financial platforms and exchanges like BTCC take compliance seriously by being licensed across multiple regions globally:

  • USA: Licensed by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)
  • Canada: Registered under The Financial Transactions & Reports Analysis Centre Of Canada (FINTRAC)
  • Europe: Approved through Lithuania’s Registrar Of Legal Entities

These licenses demonstrate their adherence not only towards regulatory standards but also commitment toward fostering secure environments where users can trade confidently knowing legal frameworks back them up internationally too!

What are the risks of using BTCC Exchange?

The risks of using any exchange is that you lose your money. Crypto is typically unregulated and deposits are not insured, so if anything were to happen to the platform you would have no recourse to get your money back.

There are also risks associated with using leverage. BTCC offers very high leverage, which can lead to liquidation if you fail to keep up with margin requirements.

These risks are magnified if you don’t understand how futures markets work – these can be highly volatile financial markets.

It’s important to set up a stop-loss on every trade. You use these to automatically close a trade at a certain price point, and they work to limit your risk on each position.

  • You may lose your money if your investments fall in value.
  • Leverage is extremely risky, especially for beginners.
  • Futures markets operate differently to spot prices and you may lose money if you don’t understand how they work.

Interactive charting capabilities

You can choose from multiple chart types such as line, bar, candlesticks, area, Heiken Ashi, and hollow candles.

These charts enable traders to perform technical analyses by identifying patterns or trends in price movements over time.

Additionally BTCC includes an order book which displays real-time buy and sell orders providing insight into market depth and liquidity at various price points. This tool helps me gauge potential market shifts before executing trades.

Copy trading

One of the newest features on BTCC is copy trading, where you can copy other people’s positions straight onto your own account.

I’ve mentioned this already but it’s worth repeating: there’s a full guide that explains how to copy trade on the platform, so it’s super easy to get started with.

Additionally, BTCC includes a Demo Trading feature, which allows me to practice trades using virtual funds up to 100,000 USDT without any financial risk.

Our verdict

BTCC stands out as a reliable and secure cryptocurrency exchange with its strong focus on futures trading. Its diverse range of offerings, including tokenized commodities and extensive altcoin selection, caters to both novice and experienced traders.

The platform’s user-friendly interface combined with robust security measures ensures a seamless trading experience for all users.

While some customer reviews highlight areas for improvement in account accessibility and support responsiveness, the overall feedback remains positive.

BTCC’s competitive fee structure, educational resources through the BTCC Academy, and advanced research tools further enhance its appeal.

Who is BTCC Exchange suitable for?

It’s suitable for everyone, but the reality is that it’s best for people who have traded before and who are particularly interested in futures trading.

The futures market is the one with the widest range of options and it’s where you can access the most leverage.

On top of that, the huge range – over 300 – of cryptocurrencies you can actually deposit directly from your wallet speaks to the fact that it’s better for people who have some experience of the crypto market already.

But the fact that there’s plenty of beginner-friendly guides does help to ease the transition for anyone who’s new to crypto.

Is BTCC Exchange good for beginners?

Yes, the walkthroughs, tutorials, and bonuses on offer to new users make it a good place for anyone to start. Plus there’s a demo account you can use to practice before diving into the live markets.

The drawbacks are that the range of spot markets is more limited than the futures options – it’s not a great idea for beginners to start on futures, especially not with leverage, and you should be cautious there.

You’re better off coming in as someone with at least some prior experience of trading, or you should use the demo account extensively before trading for real.
